5 tips to up your photography game

(google)

There are many ways to make your pictures come out fun and wonderful. In my previous blogs, I’ve wrote about many different types of tricks I use for my pictures. In today’s blog, I’ll be talking about 5 different tips and tricks to make your pictures come out even better.

1. Cellophane paper

Cellophane is a thin, transparent sheet made of regenerated cellulose. You can buy those anywhere; Walmart, Target, Michaels, or any craft stores. You’ll also need two light sources. These will give your pictures an effect that’ll make your model look like they’re under two different colored light bulbs. Instead of buying two different colored light bulbs, you can use a cellophane paper and any light source. All you have to do is wrap your cellophane paper around your light source and point the light directly on your model. You can have two different colored cellophane attached to two light sources and have one shine opposite from each other. That will make it look like one side of the model is a different color than the other side.

2. Suncatchers

Suncatchers (light catcher) is a small, reflective glass or nacre piece that is hung indoors at windows to “catch the light” from a nearby source. All you need is a circular shaped suncatcher. You can buy them on amazon or anywhere online. Make sure they’re crystal. This will give your pictures a rainbow effect. These are best used outside or wherever there’s sunlight. The best way to use them is to have them in front of the lens. You can also move it around till you get the result you’re looking for.

3. Liquid chalk and lamination paper

Liquid chalk and lamination paper can give you a blurred color effect. You can find liquid chalk and lamination paper anywhere. To use these, you just scribble the liquid chalk anywhere on the lamination paper. It doesn’t matter how you scribble it because all you have to do is hold the lamination paper in front of the lens and have the camera focus on the model. Your pictures will have a nice blurred color-like filter.

4. Glow sticks

The glow sticks will give a similar effect as tip #1 and #3. You can buy glow sticks anywhere, but just make sure it’s not those glow stick necklace or bracelets. For these, all you have to do is hold the glow stick at any corner of the lens and it’ll give your pictures a pop of color at any corner you chose.

5. Rain effect

To get that rain effect, all you need is a picture frame that’s about 31 x 41 cm or bigger and a spray bottle that’s filled with water. Take the cardboard out of the picture frame so you’ll just end up with the frame and glass. Spray the glass with water however you like it. Then, ask the model to hold the frame in front of her face.
